A Columbus front room with white wainscoting, crown molding and a double-hung window, repainted live in the chosen color

    Olentangy Moss on the walls

Tap a chip to roll it on. Real room, real light.

A two-inch chip is a terrible way to pick a wall color.

Paint looks different on three hundred square feet, in your light, next to your floors. So every Hue & Hand job starts with color, not a bid.

    1. Your light changes it

North rooms cool a color down. West rooms warm it up by evening.

    2. Big walls read stronger

A color usually looks deeper on a full wall than on the chip in your hand.

    3. Sheen shifts it too

Satin bounces light around. Flat swallows it. Same can, different room.

Our most requested green. Earthy and calm.

LRV is light reflectance value: 0 is black, 100 is pure white. Higher numbers make a room feel brighter.

    Exterior painting

Siding, trim, porches, shutters and front doors. Scraped, sanded, primed and caulked before a drop of topcoat.

Kitchen cabinets painted a soft gray with brass pulls

    Cabinets and built-ins

Kitchens, vanities and bookcases, sprayed in a hard enamel.

    Drywall and prep

Nail pops, cracks, dents and water stains, fixed and primed first.

    Lead-safe repaints

Columbus has plenty of pre-1978 homes. We follow EPA lead-safe practices on every one of them.

Do I need to move my furniture?

No. We move it to the middle of the room, cover it and put it back. We do ask you to take down art and small breakables before we arrive.

How long does an interior job take?

Most single rooms take a day. A typical three-bedroom interior takes us three to five days with a crew of two or three.

      What paint do you use?

Whatever you prefer. Most of our walls get a premium acrylic in eggshell, and trim gets a hard-wearing enamel in satin or semi-gloss. The exact product is listed on your estimate.

Do you really help pick colors?

Yes, and it's free with every estimate. We bring the full fan deck and large painted sample boards and look at them with you in your own light.

My house was built before 1978. Is that a problem?

Not for us. We test, contain and clean up following EPA lead-safe (RRP) practices on any home built before 1978.

When can you paint the outside?

We book exteriors from spring into fall and schedule around the forecast. If rain or cold moves in, we move your date and tell you the same day.

      Do you need a deposit?

No deposit for most interiors. Exteriors and cabinet jobs take a 25 percent deposit so we can order materials.

What if I don't love the color once it's up?

Tell us after the first wall. If you switch before we roll the second coat, you only pay for the extra paint.
