Most appliances aren't done. They're just telling you something.

A thump on the spin cycle. A puddle under the crisper. A fridge that's a little too warm. We translate the noise, then fix it, usually in one visit.

Five appliances. Every brand you've heard of.

We work on Whirlpool, GE, Samsung, LG, Maytag, KitchenAid, Frigidaire, Bosch, Kenmore, Amana, Electrolux and most others, gas and electric.

Washers

Won't drain, won't spin, banging, leaking, door locked shut, that mildew smell.

Dryers

No heat, two cycles to dry, squealing, and vent cleaning that actually reaches the roof line.

Ovens, ranges and cooktops

Slow preheat, burners that click and won't light, doors that won't close, dead clocks.

Dishwashers

Standing water, dirty dishes, leaks at the door, blinking lights.

A repair company that talks like a neighbor.

  • A price before a single screw turns.

Your tech finds the problem, shows you, and gives you one price. You decide. The $89 visit is credited when you go ahead.

  • The part is probably already on the van.

Every Humdinger van carries about 400 of the parts that fail most, so most repairs finish on the first visit.

  • A full year on parts and labor.

If the same repair acts up within a year, we come back and make it right at no charge.

  • Straight talk on fix or replace.

If it isn't worth fixing, we'll say so. You pay the $89 and keep your money for the new one.

Here's how a visit goes, start to spin.

Same rhythm every time, so nothing about it surprises you.

  1. Prewash

    Tell us what it's doing

Use the diagnoser, call, or text. We note the appliance, the symptom and the model if you have it.

  2. Wash

We show up in your window

Pick a 4-hour window, today or tomorrow. You get a text when your tech is 30 minutes out.

  3. Rinse

    Diagnose and quote

Shoe covers on, panels off. You see what failed and get one price before any work starts.

  4. Spin

    Fixed, usually that visit

Most parts are on the van. If one needs ordering, we schedule the return before we leave.

  5. Done

    Covered for a year

We test it with you, clean up, and the repair is covered on parts and labor for 12 months.

Diagnostic visit

$89

Credited to your repair when you go ahead. Same price on Saturdays and Sundays.

  • Full diagnosis with you there
  • One written price before work
  • 1 year on parts and labor

What it usually costs.

Humdinger's typical prices for the repairs we do most, parts and labor included. Your tech confirms the exact price before starting.

Our fix-or-replace rule of thumb

Fix it when the repair costs less than half of a comparable new one and it has at least a quarter of its working life left. When only one of those is true, it's your call and we'll lay out both sides. When neither is, we'll tell you to shop.

Both sides of State Line.

Sample quotes, written for this demo

“Dryer took two cycles for months. Turned out to be the vent, not the dryer. Fixed for way less than I'd braced for.”

Renee, Prairie Village

“He told me my 14-year-old fridge wasn't worth the compressor. Honest answer, $89, done.”

Marcus, Lee's Summit

“Washer drained again in 40 minutes. A hair tie in the pump filter. I felt silly and he was nice about it.”

Dana, Waldo

What needs fixing?

Appliance

Is water leaking right now?

Questions people ask on the phone.

Is the $89 really credited to the repair?

Yes. If you approve the repair at the visit, or within 30 days, the $89 comes off the total. If you decide not to fix it, the $89 is all you pay.

Do you work on my brand?

Almost certainly. We repair Whirlpool, GE, Samsung, LG, Maytag, KitchenAid, Frigidaire, Bosch, Kenmore, Amana, Electrolux and most other household brands. We don't service commercial kitchen equipment.

Will you tell me if it's not worth fixing?

We will. Our rule of thumb is on this page: if the repair costs more than half of a comparable new one and the appliance is near the end of its life, we'll say so before you spend a dollar more.

How soon can you come?

Most weeks we have same-day or next-day windows. Leaks and no-cooling fridges go to the front of the line.

What does the warranty cover?

One year on the parts we install and the labor to install them. If the same repair fails, we come back at no charge.

Can you work on gas appliances and refrigerant?

Yes. Our techs are trained for gas ranges and dryers and carry leak detectors. Sealed-system fridge work is done by EPA 608 certified techs.

Do I need to be home?

Someone 18 or older needs to be there to approve the quote. A neighbor or a property manager is fine, just add their name in the notes.

Let's get it humming again.
