The squat
Hips, knees and ankles should share the work. We look for the one that's quietly doing too much, or too little.
Physical therapy in Raleigh, NC
One-on-one physical therapy built around how you actually move. Hour-long first visits, and the same PT every time.
Drag the arm to how high you can lift it today, without pain.
A typical plan for a shoulder at 128°. Not a prescription: your PT confirms it at your evaluation, after hearing your history and goals.
Short daily sets you can do in a living room. Your PT fits the exact moves and reps to you.

Do the knees track over your toes? Do the heels stay down? Small things here explain a lot of sore knees and backs.
Can the arm get overhead on its own, or does your lower back arch to help it cheat? We measure the real angle.
What we see becomes your plan, and your first home exercises go home with you that same day.
Illustration of our movement screen. In the clinic it's a short video on a tablet, no suits and no markers.
If it involves how you move, we probably see it. Not sure? Call and ask a PT, it's free.
Shoulder
Rotator cuff strains, frozen shoulder, rehab after surgery, the arm you can't sleep on.
Knee
Runner's knee, ACL rehab, meniscus irritation, getting strong after a replacement.
Hip
Stiff or achy hips, tight hamstrings, bursitis, life after a hip replacement.
Back and neck
Desk-job backs, lifting strains, pain that runs down a leg, the neck that won't turn.
After surgery
We follow your surgeon's protocol and send them progress notes, from first steps to full strength.
Balance
Feeling unsteady, a recent fall, or just wanting stairs and curbs to feel easy again.
Checking how far the hip bends with the knee straight. It takes about a minute, and it tells us a lot.
What hurts, when it started, what makes it better or worse, and what you want back. Running, lifting your kid, sleeping through the night.
Squat, reach, step, bend. We measure range with a goniometer and film a few reps on a tablet so you can see it too.
Hands-on work where it helps, and two or three exercises you practice with us until they feel right.
How many visits we expect, milestones to watch for, and your home program sent to your phone before you reach the car.
Wear shorts or loose pants and sneakers. Bring your insurance card and any imaging reports you have.
No hand-offs to aides. The PT who evaluates you treats you every visit. Sample team for this demo.

Straight self-pay prices, posted. Using insurance? Most people pay a copay per visit, so check with your insurer first.
Packs are good for 12 months. HSA and FSA cards usually work for physical therapy; check your plan. Cancel or move a visit free with 24 hours notice.
Sample stories, written for this demo. Names are fictional.
“I'd slept on one side for a year. In week three I rolled over without thinking about it.”
“They filmed my squat and showed me my left knee caving in. Nobody had ever shown me that.”
“My goal was the Greenway loop with my grandkids. We walked the whole thing in May.”
“The home program fit in a coffee break. That's the only reason I actually did it.”

A preview of what your PT may start you on for your shoulder. They'll adjust these at your visit. Skip anything that causes sharp pain.
In North Carolina you can usually start physical therapy without one. Some insurance plans still ask for a referral, so check with your insurer. If yours does, we'll help you request it.
About an hour: we listen, watch you move, start treatment, and hand you a written plan. The minute-by-minute version is here.
We're in network with most PPO plans and can give you a receipt for out-of-network claims. Your insurer can tell you your PT benefit, copay and any visit limits. Self-pay prices are posted above.
Some exercises will feel like work. Sharp or lingering pain isn't the goal. Tell your PT and they'll change the move, the load or the plan.
It depends on what's going on, so we don't promise a date. Your plan includes milestones, and we re-measure every few visits so you can see where you are.
